The Cougars traveled to West Springfield to play the first round of Regional play.  Oakton came out strong and played hard in the first half but were unable to get the ball in the net so the half ended at 0 -0. 

Cougars came out ready to win the second half and within the first 10 minutes, Sophomore Danielle Fitzgerald took the ball down the field, past the keeper and perfectly placed the ball in the net to bring the score 1 - 0.  Oakton maintained great defense and had several other shooting close goals, but finished the game with a 1-0 victory over a very good West Springfield team.

Oakton plays Washington and Lee on Thursday May 27th at 7:00 at Washington and Lee for the 2nd round of Regional play.
